Cheap European Tours

It seems that most escorted tours to Europe cost in the $150 to $200 a day range. You’ll probably get a really nice hotel, transportation, guide, breakfasts, maybe some dinners, maybe some attractions, and maybe some other stuff like discounts and the factories where they take you to see the “local” attractions. Yes, I’ve been on escorted tours. Here are some places where you can get tours for around $100 a day.

EuropeTravel.com: This site is a sister site for Vacations To Go, a site I’ve used before to book cruises. This is the site for European travel. I like the site. It gives you a lot of choices. They resell tours from other countries. Their choices are very broad. They crack the $100 a day barrier with lots of options although many of them are geared to the 18-35 age group. Worth a visit.

Expat Explore: Their whilwind 26 day Best of Europe looked really good at $2855 looked great. Think London, Bruges, Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, Budapest, Mostar, Pompeii, Florence, Pisa, Paris, Rome, Dubrovnik, and Venice. It mkaes me want to go. They have other deals starting for a few hundred dollars.

Cosmos: They offer their  Europe Under $1,000 which is not so bad, Typically, these are 8 to 13 day tours and cover multiple cities in a specific country or two. Some of these trips get down as low as $80 a day for hotel, transportation, breakfasts, and some dinners. Their Spain & Portugal, Morrocco, Egypt, and Turkey look especially inviting.

TakeTours: Think Europe Freestyle Bus Tours for under $100 a day. What’s included? Hotel, transportation, daily Continental breakfast, and guide. Apparantly you choose which route and when you leave on the trip. The concept looks interesting.

Affordable Tours: They let you search for the tour you want. Pick a destination, a date, a tour operator, a length, tour style, and a price range. Better yet, click on their Deal Tracker.

Gate 1 Travel: How about an 8 Day Northern Spain Fly & Drive for $459 or an 8 Day Southern Spain Fly & Drive for $399? How about an 8 Day Madrid & Barcelona by Rail for $549? While they may not have some fo the deals that others have they are worth looking at.

First Abroad: Their European Express cracks the $100 per day barrier with 11 days for $1,071. They state “Discover 6 European countries in 11 days on a whirlwind tour!” and it looks like it could be just that. This tour has “10 nights accommodation: 5 nights in hostels, 4 nights in bungalows, 1 night in a 12th century German castle or fortress” so you know it’s meant for a younger crowd. However, it does include transportation, “10 breakfasts, 4 lunches and 8 dinners”,  ”Sightseeing tours of all major cities”, and “escorted services of a fully trained Trip Leader and Driver” so it does look like something of a bargain.
