Choeung Ek Memorial

It’s a memorial at the Killing Fields outside of Phnom Penh. It’s a nice memorial but inside of the building in the picture are the skeletal remains of about 9,000 human beings who were buried in mass graves on this site. There are still thousands of bodies which are still buried on the site. This was supposed to be the largest of the mass grave sites in Cambodia for people who were tortured and then executed. It’s my understanding that there may be larger gravesites in Cambodia but the people entombed there died of disease and starvation.
