Malta Cathedral

Malta CathedralI attended Mass this morning at the Malta Cathedral. Technically it is the St. Johns Co-Cathedral and it is located in Valletta, Malta. It was built by the Knights of Malta between 1573 and 1578. It’s the first time I have ever been in a co-cathedral to my recollection. Actually, I never knew there was such a thing. The Mass was held in Maltese, the language of Malta. It was a typical Mass so I knew what was going on, but there was some distinction. There was no kneeling. There were no kneelers.

There was one common occurrence with the Mass I attend in Oklahoma. People came late, even though there was a warning on the door not to do it.

I was told that there was a 6:00 PM Mass on Saturday. I was told the times for Sunday Mass were 9:30 AM, 11:00 AM, and 12:00 PM. I went to the 11:00 AM Mass. There were about 100 people in attendance. The church is really nice. There are more photos of it here.
