I wish I could have read Polish and figured out where to go for the Free Beer. I followed this guy around for a while, but I never could figure out where to get the free Beer.

Krakow – Busy Old Town Street
There were hundreds, if not thousands of people on the streets of the Old Town. This shouldn’t have surprised me. After all, the city does have a population of 750K+. I came to believe that all those tourists on the streets of the Old Town weren’t really tourists at all, they were just locals who didn’t want to go home and had nowhere else to go. Significance? Lifestyle. People who live in foreign countries have a different lifestyle than we do in American and I don’t think you can really get a good handle on that concept until you’ve spent some time there. Europeans, in particular, have a lifestyle I find enchanting. They walk more and have great public transportation systems. Their city centers are more conducive to an urban lifestyle that is more casual than the American lifestyle. I could go on and on. Would I want to live there? No, my family and closest friends are in America. But I do enjoy living overseas for short periods of time.
Krakow – Salt Mine Chapel
The Salt Mine Tour was a wonderful experience. I went 400 feet underground and walked almost over a mile of the 180 miles of tunnels in the mine. From what I understand the mine goes down into the ground over a mile deep and was in continuous operation for over 700 years.
Krakow – Street Musicians
There are street people everywhere in Krakow. Musicians, touts, beggers, the lcoal alchoholic transients, you name it, they’ve got it. Sometimes it was good and sometimes it wasn’t so good. It was always interesting.
Krakow – Mall
Is this a nice mall or what? It was located right outside the Old Town.
Krakow – Nice Church
The best thing about this church were the great statues along the front fence.
Krakow – Nice House
I’m still not sure why I took this picture. I was just really taken by this house located in the Old Jewish Quarter. It was small and looked really old. One fo the biggest problems with digital cameras is the marginal cost of each picture.
Krakow – Nice Park III
There is a wonderful greenbelt around the Old Town that comes complete with an asphalt/cobblestone track. Too cool.
Krakow – Nice Park II
Pope John Paul II lived and worked in Krakow. Ther are many objects in the city that have the pope as a theme.
Krakow – Auschwitz Dorm
It was pretty gruesome thinking about people living and sleeping in the same clothes for months at a time. From what we were told, there were 6-8 people in each bunk.
