The one paved road on Ometepe doubles as the local sidewalk. So, whenever andone needs to move herd of cattle from one place to another, they use the local sidewalk.

Lovebirds – Ometepe Island, Nicaragua
We stayed at this really neat resort. Great views, great vegetation, great food, great beer, great service. It had hot running water all day. You only know the signficance of that statemetn if you’ve spent some time in Central America. There are little slices of paradise sprinkled about the region.

This is the sign when you get off the ferry. Please note that there are no ATMs, no fancy restaurants, and no bars I’d want to frequent. What there are are a couple of really nice resorts where a person can really relax and be pampered.
