I wanted to go to see Montezuma’s Castle. It’s a cliff dwelling site. No problem. Except I was told that when they put Interstate 17 in the traffic at Montezuma’s Castle increased so dramatically that they had to stop letting visitors up into the cliff dwellings. Not good. So, people told me to go to Tonto National Monument where I could visit the actual dwellings. hey were great. I got to spend almost an hour talking to the Ranger about the history of the area. The picture on the left is the Visitor Center. The one on the right is the actual dwelling in the cliff. Note all the cacti o the hill. The dwelling is visble in the upper right of the first picture. It was a bit of a hike.
