YuYuan Garden

The Yuyuan Garden was created in 1559 as a private garden by Pan Yunduan, who is said to have taken almost 20 years building the garden for his parents to enjoy in their golden years. What a great story. I hope it’s actually true. I plan on taking the 2-300 pictures I took of the garden back to my children and tell them of a child’s love for their parents. Not that they’ll give a rat sass. Anyway, the garden is some five acres large and, trust me, Pan didn’t build it by himself. It cost some $6 to tour, but was well worth it. As classical Chinese gardens go, this one is has to rank right up there with the best of them and it’s only a short walk from the metro station of the same name.
