Siege Tunnels Gibraltar

Siege Tunnels GibraltarThere are two things I find really interesting about Gibraltar. The first are the macaques, or monkeys, that are on the peninsula. This trip I did not see too many. That’s because I did not get to the highest points on Gibraltar. That’s where they like to hang out. The only thing I’ll say about them in this post is that they are not well-behaved. This post is about the siege tunnels. Gibraltar has been under siege fourteen times, if my memory serves correctly. Over 34 miles of siege tunnels have been constructed on Gibraltar from the late 1700′s onward. There are a few articles on them, with my favorite located here.
