Europe 2005 The Ritz

This is the Ritz Hotel in London. I’ve never had a desire to stay there but I have had an unhealthy curiosity about Afternoon Tea at the hotel. If you must know, Afternoon Tea at the Ritz requires a coat and tie for a gentleman (me, presumably), costs $50 to $100 per person depending on the Tea selected, needs to be booked approximately four weeks ahead for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday Tea and approximately three to five months ahead for Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, consists of a "choice of several varieties of tea, finely cut sandwiches, freshly baked scones, jam and clotted cream and a range of delicate pastries" and lasts about one hour and forty-five minutes. Now you understand why I say I have an unhealthy curiosity about it. 10/2005
