John Wayne in Laos

I have no idea who the person was who was supposed to be represented by the statue. I would have guessed John Wayne in one of his cowboy roles. I’m sure it wasn’t, but that’s the impression I got. I think that, at this point in my journey, I’m missing America so much I’m having delusions.
