Key Needed

The point of the photo is to explain that there are some technological developments that I saw in SE Asia that I had never seen in any other part of the world before. This was one of them. Essentially, it is a keycard. What that means is that, when you rent a hotel room in many places you have to stick the keycard attached to the key into the keycard holder to activate the electricity in the room. That means that, while you aren’t in the room, the electric, including the air conditioning, light, TV, etc. won’t work without the keycard being inserted into the keycard holder. Imagine that?
