Wow! Was this place scary. We drove up to the entrance. No one was there. we looked inside and saw what appeared to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 iguanas headed for us. Some looked to be over 6 feet long. Ethel and I agreed that was way-too-much lizard for us and jumped back on the scooter and took off.

Ethel at Ruins – Copan, Honduras
Copán Ruinas is a town in Honduras located near the Guatemalan border. The Copan Ruins are a UN World Heritage site and are renowned for the heiroglyphic staircase to be found there.
Breakfast – Copan, Honduras
These yummy burrito-looking objects are called something else, but I can’t recall the name at the moment because I have the memory of a two-year-old. I just know that I really liked them and at them all the time for breakfast. Actually, I ate beans and tortillas all the time for almost six weeks. I was in Central America. Everyone in Central America eats beans and tortillas ll the time.
Washday – Copan, Honduras
There aren’t a lot of laundromats in central America. When we wanted clean clothes we took out laundry to the local washperson and they did the laundry. Here is one of the local machines…
Chicken in Restaurant – Copan, Honduras
There weren’t just stray dogs wandering all around the place. There were lots of other animals as well. Here, we were in a nice restaurant, having a meal and what do we spot? A chicken. Walking through like it owned the place.

I usually have trouble getting Ethel to pose with the local critters. She’s not really a local critter person. She liked the birds until I told her later that they had bitten a couple of holes in her smock trying to get her necklace. Bad birds!
