Zebras Ngorongoro Crater

Here’s another group of animals that are plentiful in the Ngorongoro Crater. Zebras were everywhere. Again, they seemed very happy. Zebras liked to roll around in the dirt. I never knew that. That’s probably because I had never seen a zebra outside of a zoo or circus.

Lion Ngorongoro Crater

We were blessed with lions at the crater. This was a particularly good-looking guy with a lot of character. He’s snoozing. Most of them were. We got our truck about 10 feet from him. Close enough for me.

Hyena in Trouble Ngorongoro Crater

It was a hyena in trouble. It looked like it was going to die. It’s breathing was very labored. We all figured that it had become a victim of the rough life of a hyena – kill or be killed. In this case I figured that something with a horn or a hard head or a really big tough foot got the better of Mr. Hyena.

Water Buffalo Ngorongoro Crater

Here’s an obstinate little Water Buffalo. Actually he’s not such a little guy at all. Plus they roam in packs or herds or whatever. Large ones. The kind that you wouldn’t want to stand in front of. This guy stood there for a long time. What could we do?
