Europe 2005 Shkoder Bus Stop

From Tirana I went north to Shkoder. This is a picture of a bus stop in Shkoder. Actually, it could be the picture of a bus stop anywhere in Albania. Or Bulgaria. Or Macedonia. Or Serbia. What happens is that the mini-vans congregate around a certain spot. The spots are not marked, people just know where they are. Each mini-van does a certain route. The van leaves when it gets full. The price is negotiable for tourists. Locals know how much it is and will tell you if you can speak their language or they speak English. Oh, and by the way, the van can get really, really, really crowded. 11/2005
