Peru Cruz del Sur

This was my seat on the Cruz del Sur bus from Lima to Cuzco. Nice seat, huh? It cost me $62 for the 24 hour bus trip from Lima to Cuzco. It was very comfortable. For a bus, that is. Did I like being stuck in it for 24 hours? No. But, there were some really great views. No, let me take that back. There were some simply stupendous views on the trip. The seat reclined to a point where it was almost like sleeping on a bed. That didn’t mean I got a good night’s sleep. We drove through the Andes Mountains and and all the switchbacks would roll the mass of the bus to the left, then back to the right, then back and forth all night long. There were periods where I got some good sleep, but if I had my ‘druthers, I would have preferred to have been at home in my own bed as far as the sleeping issues of the trip were concerned.
