Borscht Odessa Ukraine

Borscht Odessa UkraineI got off the train in Odessa, Ukraine and I checked into the hostel near the train station. I decided to get something to eat. The guy at the hostel recommended a restaurant down the street. I go there. It’s one of those overpriced, underwhelming places that are all too common in the world. Face it, I’m a buffet, cafeteria, or pot luck kind of guy. The only time I ever enjoyed caring about what I wore to dinner was when the word client was involved. But I decided to splurge. I went in and looked at the menu. I spied the word “Borscht” and remembered two things. First I had met a fellow traveler two days earlier that said borscht was the best soup he had ever eaten. Second, I could not remember ever having eaten borscht before. I figured it was time. I had the borscht. Was it the best soup I had ever eaten? No. I’m still a clam chowder fan. Then again, maybe clam chowder is not, technically, a soup. Anyway, I’ve now eaten borscht and I like it.
